Dr. Shrutidhara Sarma
Associate Professor, Dept. of Mechanical Engineering
Indian Institute of Technology Jodhpur
Dr. Shrutidhara Sarma is an Associate Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering (ME) at Indian Institute of Technology Jodhpur, India. Prior to joining IITJ in 2019, she was a post-doctoral fellow in Kunsan National University (KSNU), South Korea. Dr. Sarma earned her Ph.D in 2017 from IIT Guwahati and remained an Erasmus Mundus Fellow at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTh) Greece, facilitated by the European Commission, EU. A Gold Medalist from Tezpur University, Dr. Sarma’s accolades include prestigious grants and awards, including the Membership NASI 2025, INAE Young Associate 2024, ISEES Young Scientist Award 2023, Smt. Sheela Baya National Award 2023 by IEI, WISER award from Indo-German Science & Technology Centre (IGSTC) in 2023, SIRE fellowship from SERB in 2023, among others. As the PI of the FERN Laboratory, Dr. Sarma has garnered over 1.8 crore INR in grants that are dedicated to the development of highly reliable and mechanically robust physical sensors with applications in wearable health monitoring devices, assistive and aerospace technologies. The FERN lab has several on-going international collaborations including TU Braunschweig of Germany, Technion of Israel, NAL Ban galore, IIT Delhi etc.
